About Me
Jennie McSweeney, LCSW
Jennie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a graduate of the University of Tennessee School of Social Work. She has worked in a variety of settings including, outpatient therapy, inpatient treatment, and partial hospitalization programs. These settings have prepared Jennie to work with different types of people, facing unique struggles. Jennie specializes in treating anxiety based disorders, body image, body dysmorphia, eating disorders/disordered eating behaviors and pregnancy/postpartum.
Therapy is a personal and unique experience for each individual. For this reason, it is important that you find someone who can provide the structure, support, and knowledge that moves you in the direction of your goals. Jennie is a trained Acceptance and Commitment therapist and utilizes this technique in her practice. She also pulls from CBT, DBT, and Mindfulness based techniques to inform her work.
Most importantly, Jennie calls on her own experience in recovery to meet her clients where they are and walk alongside them. Jennie is a firm believer that in therapy we cannot ask of others what we have not asked of ourselves. Engaging in a therapeutic process is a brave and honest pursuit and it is an honor to play a role in that journey.
